Harley Shovelhead Cam Cover,  Casting #25218-70A  (With End Oiler Bushing)

This is an OEM cam cover with Factory casting number #25218-70A.  Installed bushing is the late, end oiler type (see "IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE" below).

Finish appears to be a dated silver paint with general finish wear.  Cone edge has a small chip, and you will notice that a previous user drilled some superficial accent dimples around the cone rim.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE:  All cone Shovelhead cam covers must be carefully inspected for the style of pinion shaft bushing installed.  And the bushing style installed must only be used on engines with a pinion shaft of the same style.  For example, early production model engines used a side oiling pinion shaft, so all cam covers used on those motors must use a side oiling bushing.  Likewise, late production model engines used an end oiler shaft, and the cam covers used on those engines required the use of an end oiler style bushing on the cam cover.  In brief, the correct cover and pinion shaft bushing type MUST be correctly-matched to the pinion shaft type on the motor being used.  This is essential, since the engine lower end is lubricated through the pinion shaft.  So using the wrong cover and bushing style on the wrong motor can lead to critical engine failure.
