Harley XL Sporster Oil Tank, OEM #62508-73  (Lower Mount Tab Repair Needed)

OEM tank for the late 1973-78 vintage.  Although it appears similar to the 1970-E73 vintage, there were some differences. 

Condition is generally straight with good seams.  But as you can see from our photos, one of the lower mount tabs broke off, so a  repair is required.  That being said, a simple reinforcing steel stock strap could be used as a temporary mounting strategy.  Otherwise, we are only noting a small ding on the lower, front edge approximately 2" from the bottom edge.
