Harley Sportster Girling Rear Caliper Body, OEM #44052-82  (Polished Finish)

OEM rear caliper body for XL Sportsters for the 1982-83 vintage, only.

This is an original caliper body, but a previous user removed the original black paint finish and polished the underlying aluminum finish, which looks very clean.  And all the original surfaces are free from scrapes, chips, and blemishing.  With additional finishing, this one would look excellent.  But we think it shows very clean, as is.

Included is the body, only.  The only attached components are the bleeder screw and the inner piston seal.  All other components are required.  But we know this body will accept any original Girling components, even from the FXR Girling assemblies.  So this would make a nice replacement for a builder wanting a polished finish but doesn't want to do the work.  Simply exchange your existing components to this body, and you're ready to go.

NOTE:  this caliper is correct for the XL Sportster from 1982-83, only.  It must not be confused with the FXR variation which had some important machining differences.  Specifically, this XL version of the Girling features a bleeder screw on the right side.  In contrast, the FXR bleeder screw needs to be on the left.  This is an important fitment issue, since OEM hoses must be routed correctly, with the proper reach.  So, although both XL and FXR models used the Girling, the bleeder and connector port holes were configured differently.
