Harley Sportster Air Cleaner Backing Plate  (OEM #29009-88, 1988-92)

This plate first appears on XL models in 1988, and it was used to 1992.  For 1993, the same part number was used but with the "A" designation, which indicates some update.  So this particular plate was original to the 1988-92 vintage.  You will also notice a foam filter screen, and foam filters were only used for the 1988-90 model years.  But this plate will accept both foam and the later, washable units.

Patterned for the CV, which would be correct.
