Harley Shovelhead Oil Tank Trim In Black  (OEM Sturgis/FXDWG)

Very rare black trim piece.

We understand this black paint style was used on Sturgis and FXDWG models for the Shovelhead vintage, roughly 1982-84.  We see the polished version everywhere.  Never do we find them in black, so we consider this to be a fairly rare find.

Some chipping of the paint finish.  But generally very good, otherwise.  Mounting screws are present.  However, pop rivets were also common on the late Shovel.  So, with screws, we anticipate this originated in an earlier model, so the Sturgis seems most likely.
