Harley Shovelhead FXE Battery Tray, OEM 1973-79  (Early Relays)

Early FXE tray, correct for electric start models 1973-79.  It is distinguished by its two countersunk holes, used for attaching the early, bottom-mounted relay.

Sturdy steel construction.  Square condition with no evidence of twisting, and all tabs are present.  We are noting some textured surfaces underneath the paint, so this is likely an older OEM tray that had some pitting, and the tray was obviously refinished.  But the tray is otherwise very solid, as you would expect from an OEM tray.  

FITMENT NOTE--this tray should not be confused with the smaller, early kickstart only model.  Nor should it be confused with the larger FL/FLH tray.  This tray is unique to the FXE ("E"lectric Start) models only.
