Harley Shovelhead FX SuperGlide Battery Tray (OEM 1971-L, Kick Start Only)

This battery tray is specific to the original FX Shovelhead Super Glide, introduced in '71.  It was also used on all production bikes until an electric start option was offered in '74.

This specific tray has all the correct features, including the small terminal window at the left rear. This tray is for the smaller FX battery, unique to kickstart only models.  In contrast, FXE models ("E"lectric start models) used a slightly larger tray, and different mount hardware and brackets were required, so be sure you verify proper use/fitment.

Correct tabs are present, and plates, welds, and construction remain sturdy and strong.  Finish is OEM black, but dated.
