Harley Shovelhead FX Battery Tray, OEM 1971-L  (Kick Start-Only Models)

This tray is specific to the FX Shovelhead Super Glide, introduced in '71.  It was also used on all production bikes until an electric start option was offered in '74.

Tray is in square condition, not twisted, the correct tabs are present, and it still has original black paint remnants.  But the finish is generally weathered. 

This tray is for the smaller FX battery, unique to kickstart only models.  In contrast, FXE models ("E"lectric start models) used a slightly larger tray, and different mount hardware and brackets were required.  Likewise, the FL battery was even larger.  So this tray should not be confused with the FXE or FL versions.
