Harley Shovelhead/Evolution Oil Filter Mount--OEM #62538-82, 1982-86

This bracket first appeared on FX and FL models in 1982, and its use continued on a few Evolution models, as well, including the FXWG, FXSB, and FXEF. 

As you would expect, this is a very well-constructed, sturdy bracket.  Filter mount threads are straight and clean, and the hose fittings are square, and they are solidly welded.  The original black paint finish is weathered and dated, but you can see some of the remnants are still present.  Refinishing is straightforward, if required.

TECHNICAL NOTE--this bracket mounts to the late 4-speed transmission plates which were constructed from a single plate of stamped steel.  Specifically, an additional hole was machined on the transmission plate at the rear, between the two corners.  Factory models prior to 1982 were not machined for the hole.  So you must inspect your existing transmission plates to verify they have the proper machining.
