Harley Shovelhead/Evolution FXWG/FXST Shifter Plate (OEM #33683-80, 1980-86)

This plate is specific to the FXWG from 1980-86 and the FXST models from 1984-85.  One of our sources shows additional use on the ElectraGlide Sport and FLHS-80 models from 1981-84.

Although this plate looks similar to the 1987-later plate, there are some important differences.  First, the peg mount-to-shifter shaft bore spacing is wider when compared to the '87-later plates.  Second, we believe this early plate used a different shaft bushing, which means early and late shifter components, in general, do not interchange. 

Also, it's worth noting that there were two possible shifter lever styles used for the 1980-86 vintage.  The first style was the Shovelhead-era clevis connector which was retained using a clip.  The second style used was a early Evolution ball-joint type fitting.  The style included, here, is the late ball joint-type fitting. 

Since both clip and ball joint style rod connectors were used, you should carefully consider your shifter rod connector types prior to purchasing.
