Harley Shovelhead/Evo Oil Filter Mount OEM #62538-82, 1982-86  (Spacing Ring Needed)

This bracket first appears on FX and FL models in 1982, and its use continued on a few Evolution models, as well, including the FXWG, FXSB, and FXEF. 

Condition is excellent, and it has a relatively new powder coated finish.  However, a few observations are required.  First, there is no spacing ring, which was required to match the spacing ring on the late transmission mounting plate.  Also, there is an arched feature on the mount face, which we have never seen before in an OEM plate.  But we have never known of any reproduction sources for this bracket, so we are supposing it to be an original bracket.  Could be a late version, but that's just a guess.  This might also explain the lack of spacing ring, which might have saved on production costs by eliminating its integration.  But, again, that's just a guess on our part.

TECHNICAL NOTE--this bracket mounts to the late 4-speed transmission plates which were constructed from a single plate of stamped steel.  For Factory models equipped with this bracket, an additional hole was machined on those particular transmission plates at the rear, between the two corners.  Factory models that were not equipped with this bracket had transmission plates WITHOUT the hole.  So you should inspect your existing transmission plates for the proper machining since different plates were used, depending on the model.
