Harley Panhead/Shovel Shifter Plate & Lever (SPLINED Shaft, Circlip Type 1965-73)

Foot shift assemblies were introduced in 1953, but there were some variations.

This particular plate and lever set would be correct for the 1965-73 vintage.  Unique to these models is the shifter lever with its circlip-style, rod clevis retainer.  Also introduced for the '65 vintage was the one-piece toe/heal shifter, so the two-piece shafts were no longer used.

Please note the shifter lever has a SPLINED shaft, so a splined bore toe-heal shifter arm will be required.  

Plate face and footboard tab are in square condition.  And we are not observing an distortions.  There are no cracks.  Front cover screw and grease fitting are present.  Original silver finish remnants remain, but there is typical weathering.  That being said, refinishing is straightforward.  Even satin silver aerosols look good on these early plates.  Lever has a chrome finish with minor blemishes, only. 

In our view, a nice set of OEM components.
