Harley Keihin Carburetor--Early Type (FX/FL Shovelhead, OEM 1976-E78)

This is the first generation of the Keihin. 

This particular configuration was used from 1976-early 1978.  It is distinguished by its simple choke design, which is very similar to the Bendix, in function.  Its float design was also different, compared to the late 1978 and later versions.

In general, condition is good.  All flange bolt holes have good, straight threads, throttle and choke assemblies have smooth, clean action, and the float assembly with all jetting is complete and clean.  The plastic section of the fuel inlet has cracked off.  But but this is common, and replacements are readily available.

NOTE:  we are including an additional throttle shaft assembly.  One of the throttle plate attaching screws is stripped, and the throttle shaft has partially worn threads on the throttle disc side.  As is, the assembly is secure.  But we are including an additional shaft and plate if replacement is desired.  In our estimation, the assembly is secure.  But the existing end nut and lock washer could be updated with a small nylock.  Or a small dab of locktite could be used with the existing nut and washer.  

Otherwise, a complete cleaning, rebuild kit, and new fuel inlet elbow will be required, prior to use.
