Harley FXWG/FXST Shifter Plate & Splined Shifter Lever (OEM, 1980-86)
OEM plate, correct for FXWG models from 1980-86 and the FXST models from 1984-85. One of our sources shows additional use on the ElectraGlide Sport and FLHS-80 models from 1981-84.
Unique to this plate is the peg mount-to-shifter shaft bore spacing, which is wider, compared to the '87-later plates. Also, this early plate used a different shaft bushing, which means early and late shifter components, in general, do not interchange. Also, there were two possible shifter lever styles used for the 1980-86 vintage. The first style was the Shovelhead-era clevis connector which was retained using a clip. The second style used was the early Evolution ball-joint type fitting. The style included, here, is the early, Shovelhead-era version, so the clevis-style rod end connector must be used.
Lastly, note the included lever has a splined end. So the splined style shifter arm must be used.
FITMENT NOTE: as noted above, the included lever is the Shovelhead type which uses a clevis-type rod end and where a retaining clip is used.
FITMENT NOTE: lever has a splined end, so a splined shifter arm must be used.
