Harley FXWG/FXST/FLHS Brake Control Plate, Chrome  (OEM #42507-82, 1983-86)

There were four variations on the late Shovelhead and Evolution-era brake control plates: 

First Generation:   1983-86 FXWG & 1984-85 FXST (#42507-82)
Second Generation:   1986-E1987 FXST, & FXSTC   (#42507-86)
Third Generation:   L1987-88 FXST, FXSTC, and FXSTS  (#42507-87A)
Fourth Generation:   1989-99: (#42507-89A--smaller plate; master cylinder & reservoir mounted separately.)

This is the first generation plate, OEM #42507-82, distinguished by its use of a rear frame clamp.  Second generation plates omitted the clamp, and third generation plates used a new master cylinder style which was mounted to an integrated (welded on) master cylinder bracket.  For '89 and later, brake plate and master cylinders were separately mounted, and the brake plate was truncated to half the original size.

Solid steel stock, plate is square, and the adjuster tab is present.  Chrome is bright but dated with light, speckled patina and pitting.  Otherwise, very solid construction.

No frame clamp/bracket is included.  Just the plate, as pictured.
