Harley FXR Shovelhead/Evo Girling Caliper, OEM 1982-86  (Needs Piston Dust Boot)

OEM Girling rear caliper, #44050-82A, correct for FXR/FXRT models, 1982-86.  

Unique to the FXR Girling is the location of the bleeder screw hole which appears on the left side.  The XL Girling, in contrast, will have the bleeder screw hole located on the right.

When we acquired this caliper, we removed to piston to inspect the bore and seals.  The piston dust seal was badly torn, so we discarded it.  But the balance of components remain in good condition.  The piston has a small patch of light pitting.  But we set the piston in the bore, without seals, and the piston produced excellent vacuum/pressure all by itself.  So the piston and bore machined surfaces remain straight and square.

Included is body, steel piston, bleeder screw, inner bore seal, and piston dust boot retainer.  Required is a piston dust boot, along with linings, shims, and other related components.

FITMENT NOTE:  this caliper is for the FXR models, only.  For the XL Sportster, the Factory switched the bleeder screw location to the right.  So although this will "fit" the XL, the hydraulic hose routing will not be correct.  For XL builders, you'll want OEM #44052-82.
