Harley FXE Shovelhead Battery Tray, OEM 1973-79  (Early Relay Type)

Early FXE tray, correct for electric start models 1973-79.  It is distinguished by its two countersunk holes, used for attaching the early, bottom-mounted relay.

Very sturdy construction will solid welds, and all correct tabs are present.  The grey finish might be a primer coat, we're not sure.  And there are areas that have surface rust from long-term storage.  And there is some minor pitting.  But otherwise very sound condition, and refinishing is straightforward.

FITMENT NOTE--this tray should not be confused with the smaller, early kickstart only model.  Nor should it be confused with the larger FL/FLH tray.  This tray is unique to the FXE ("E"lectric Start) models only.
