Harley FX Shovelhead SuperGlide Split Handlebars, Early Switches (OEM 1970-73)
Early FX split bars in chrome plated, steel construction. Style was used from 1970-73, and the early-style switches and internal throttle sleeve and cable were used.
Factory references indicate two possible styles for the early (1070-73) FX models: Buckhorn and Sport. To our knowledge, however, the buckhorn bars found on the XL had a tighter grip position. In contrast, the grip position on this bar set is considerably more comfortable. So we are presuming that the Factory used the term "buckhorn" to describe a general bar style and not a specific bar set. As a result, we reckon the XL buckhorn as being different from the FX buckhorn, the XL being narrower and the FX being wider. But more research may be required.
Chrome finish is good, and it shows bright. But some light fading, scratches, and minor blemishing is present, but nothing dramatic.
