Harley FLT Left Rear Footboard Bracket, 1983-05  (OEM #50622-83B, 5/16"-18)

There are two variations on this bracket.  The primary difference between the two is the thread pitch. 

This bracket features the 5/16"-18 machining.  That makes this OEM #50622-83B, which is the later version.   The earliest version, however, featured the 5/16"-24 machining, and its part number ended with the "A" designation.  That means this "B" version was intended to replace, or supersede, the early "A" version.  So this bracket was intended for use back to 1983.  But, of course, the later 5/16"-18 bolt must be used whenever this bracket version is used.

In brief, if you are replacing an early bracket that used a 5/16"-24 bolt, you will be required to use a 5/16"-18 bolt when using this bracket on your early model bike.  Other than this thread pitch difference, early and late designs are otherwise the same.
