Harley FL Shovelhead 12 Volt Battery Tray  (OEM 1970-73)

There are 4 versions of this tray: 1965-69, 1970-73, 1974-79, and 1980-84.  This is the 1970-73 version, distinguished by its 90 degree tab on the front frame bracket, used for mounting the early Delco-Remy relay.  '74-'79 versions featured a flat tab to accommodate the larger relays for '74, and '80-'84 versions had no tabs at all.

Structurally, tray is square, not distorted or twisted, and all the correct tabs are present.  Black paint finish is original, but dated. The left side support tab has some variation in the plate nearest the weld.  We imagine the tab was bent and straightened.  Even so, the tab is solid, and the weld remains secure.
