Harley Evolution REAR Tappet Guide/Lifter Block (Early Cast Iron)
Early REAR block/guide that is cast iron/steel construction in black finish.
This early style is fairly rare. We don't know how long cast iron castings were used, but we suspect a few years, only. That being said, we have compared this early cast iron guide to its aluminum casting counter-part, and we are not discerning any critical differences. To our understanding, the castings are essentially the same. But more research may be required, or you might wish to consult with your local bike builder for further guidance.
Original black paint finish is dated, but this is easily refinished, if required. No cracks, no chips, no damage, and no repairs. Bores are very nice with no evidence of rust, pitting, or scoring. We are only noting light/normal tappet tracking. So bore condition is quite nice, in our view.
NOTE: this is a REAR guide only. The front tappet guides were oriented differently, so front and rear versions do not inter-change.
