Harley-Davidson Shovelhead/Evolution FLT Cone Nut  (OEM #48333-80)

According to Factory references, this cone nut is specific to FLT models beginning with Shovelheads in 1980.    Use continued into the Evolution FLT line, but we're uncertain how late.    

This style, with the beveled base, is a bit different, compared to the Panhead and Shovelhead Glides, and the styles were not interchangeable, but they do share the same thread pitch.  The purpose of cone nuts, generally, however, is to apply preliminary torque to steering head bearings while providing a base for locating Glide top tree clamps.
