Harley CV Carburetor Float Bowl, Early Type, L1989-91 (OEM #27159-89)

Early bowl, specific to the early CV vintage, 1989-91. 

This bowl WILL NOT fit on the 1988 body, which was a one-year-only design.  Also, it WILL NOT fit the '92 and later bodies.  The '92-L bowl perimeter has an different shape.  Further, for this early bowl, the early round float must be used.  For '92 and later, bodies, bowls, and floats were very different.

NOTE:  1988 Models did not use an accelerator pump, so this bowl CAN NOT be used on those assemblies.  Physically, the pump nozzle interferes with fitment on those bodies.  This bowl also has a broader base, so fitment on the 1988 CV will not work properly, for a number of reasons.  Again, this bowl is for late 1989-91 assemblies with AC pump features, only.

NOTE:   1989-91 ONLY--this bowl DOES NOT interchange on the '92 and later bodies. '92 and later body castings and float chamber designs were different in shape and configuration. Early and late CV body, bowl, and float components do not interchange.

NOTE:  Variations--there were at least 2 variations on this bowl, but the differences are with respect to the overflow tube angle (straight or 90 degrees) and the machined hole location for the accelerator pump feed. But physically they are otherwise the same, so any of the early, pre-91 float chambers can be interchanged.
