Genuine Harley Hitachi Starter Motor Housing  (OEM Casting #31570-04)

OEM casting with the Factory cast number clearly present on the interior.  Threads on both bolt holes are straight, throughout, with no stripping or cross threading. 

According to a local builder, this housing was used on select Shovelheads from 1980-82, and we have seen it paired with the late Shovelhead casting #31387-80, so there is likely some truth to this.  However, with a casting number ending in "-04," Evolution or TC use seems probable, as well.
