45" Flathead Transmission Oil Filler Plug, Long/Slotted Head   (1941-73)

We are not 45" specialists, but this filler plug is longer (approx 3 1/16") compared to the more common, shorter variation.    It also featres a slotted hed, not the hex head.   We suspect this might have been an early plug style, perhaps for unique specification bikes, but that is just a guess.    The finish is dated, which leads us to believe it is an OEM piece, but we really don't know the full history on this plug type..
