Harley XL Sportster "De Luxe" Oil Cooler Mounting Bracket  (OEM #62604-71, 1971-81)

This bracket was used for mounting standard Lockhart oil coolers on XL models from 1971-81.  The open, wider-spaced end mounts to the frame, and the lower, closed bolt hole locations are for mounting the cooler.  This information comes directly from a Lockhart publication.

Although this bracket can be used to mount the standard lockhart, based on the Lockhart illustration we viewed, it apears to also be used for mounting the larger Lockhart units with the built-in bypass.  In fact, we suspect its original use was for the larger units, which would make sense.  The larger coolers likely required a stronger bracket.

No cracks.  Square condition.  And the paint finish is still quite good.
