Product Description

Harley Panhead/Shovelhead REAR Tappet Guide/Lifter Block  (OEM 1953-E76)

Very nice condition.  On a scale of 1-100, we consider this a 95.

All the fundamentals are excellent--cast finish is original, not polished, there is no evidence of chipping, damage, or repairs, and the bores are clean with no scoring or particle gouging.  And we have tested fitment of a stock tappet, and fitment was excellent, running square, smooth, and with no excess play or evidence of binding.  So we consider this to be a very nice example.  Paint finish requires updating, but this is straightforward.

If you require a FRONT version, we have one available in silver paint finish in the "Early Vintage" section of our store.

This is the early, countersunk style in cast iron construction.  It requires use of the countersunk style screw, hex head, with a 1/4-24 thread pitch.  In contrast, late blocks (late 1976-84) used a flat-based, 12-point screw with a 1/4-20 pitch.  So carefully review your existing cases for the correct screw style and thread pitch requirements.
