Harley FXST Forward Brake Control Plate  (OEM #42507-86, Type 2, 1986-E87)

Please note there were four variations on the late Shovelhead and Evolution-era brake control plates: 

Type 1:   1983-86 FXWG & 1984-85 FXST (#42507-82)
Type 2:   1986-E1987 FXST, & FXSTC   (#42507-86)
Type 3:   L1987-88 FXST, FXSTC, and FXSTS  (#42507-87A)
Type 4:   1989-99: (#42507-89A--smaller plate; master cylinder & reservoir mounted separately.)

This is the Type 2  plate, OEM #42507-86, which is distinguished by the absence of a frame clamp at the rear, inside location, which is correct.    It also uses the early, side-mounted, aluminum barrel-type master cylinder.    In contrast, Type 1 plates DID feature a frame clamp, and Type 3 plates used a new master cylinder style which was mounted to an integrated (welded on) master cylinder bracket.  For '89 and later, brake plate and master cylinders were separately mounted, and the brake plate was truncated to half the original size.

Bracket is square with no distortions.   Brake stop screw hole has good straight threads, and an allen head bolt with the correct thread pitch is attached for reference.   Chrome is bright and clean, but a few minor scratches are present.  But nothing dramatic.
