Harley FX Shovelhead Brake Pedal, Early Type  (OEM #42399-72)

Early style, early finish.

The Factory used a variety of part numbers for the FX brake pedal.  However, in general, there were the early "tabbed" versions and the later "non-tabbed" versions.  Of the early tabbed versions that we have seen, OEM #42399-72A is the chrome variation.  This one is also a tabbed version, but the finish appears to be silver paint, which suggests very early use (Pre-"A").  That makes this one a bit more rare.
