Engine Balancer Bearing???  (OEM/NOS #8989)

We have been unable to obtain authoritative application data for this bearing.  One of our online resources indicates "engine balancer bearing", and a few commercial vendors specify further, indicating "counterbalance shaft bearing, left side."   We did not find this number in any of our catalogs, which only go up to 2007.  So more research will be required.
